 Work with tasks 
=================

Create tasks with status, priority, due dates, and assignees, then keep on top of them with filters and digests.

 A task is a follow-up with a deadline: call the customer back, send the proposal, chase the contract. Create tasks from the **Tasks** list with **New task**, or from a company, person, or opportunity page — tasks made there arrive already linked to the record.

- **Title** — required, the only must-have.
- **Status** — To do, In progress, or Done by default; these options are [yours to rename](/help/custom-fields/edit-the-options-in-a-select-field), and they define the board's columns.
- **Priority** — Low, Medium, or High.
- **Due Date** — drives the overdue highlights and the daily digest.
- **Description** — rich text for the details.
- **Assignees** — one or more teammates.
- **Companies** and **People** — the records the task is about. Linking a task to an opportunity happens from the opportunity's **Tasks** tab.

- The **Home** page shows your next open tasks, ordered by due date, with overdue ones in red.
- On the **Tasks** list, the **Assigned to me** filter cuts the list down to yours, and you can group rows by **Status** or **Priority**.
- Ask the AI assistant — "what's overdue?" works.

Open **Settings** from your avatar menu, then **Notifications**, to control two signals: **Task Assignments** — an in-app notification when a task is assigned to you, with an optional email — and a **Daily digest** email each morning listing your overdue and due-today tasks. The digest only sends when there's something in it.
