 Find anything with search and filters
=======================================

Search across every record from the sidebar, or filter any list.

 Updated August 12, 2026

 Press **⌘K** (or click the search box in the sidebar) to search across every record at once, or use the search and filter controls on any list to narrow down what's already in front of you.

1. Click the search box at the top of the sidebar, or press **⌘K**.
2. Type any part of a name. Results appear grouped by record type — **Companies**, **Opportunities**, and more.
3. Click a result to open it.

Every list — Companies, People, Opportunities, Tasks, Notes — has its own **Search** box above the table. Typing there filters just that list, and shows what you searched for as a removable chip under **Active filters**.

1. Click the **Filter** icon above the table.
2. Set any of the filters shown — built-in ones like **Creation Source** and **Deleted records**, plus any searchable custom fields for that entity.
3. Click **Reset** to clear them all.

Only custom fields marked **Searchable** appear in the filter panel. Open [Use custom fields](/help/getting-started/use-custom-fields) to turn that on.
